Chapter 22: Daddy

After my emotional meeting with Bella I feel asleep. It was peaceful and calm, no dreams or anything.

"Edward!" somebody squealed. Only one person could do that while visiting someone on a hospital.

"Alice," I groaned.

"Oh, you're up!"

"You woke me up."

She was quiet. I looked at her confused.

"Sorry then," she snapped.

This was not normal behaviour. "Alice, what's up with you?"

"I don't know!" she exploded. Then she turned sad. "I've been like this for the whole week. I don't know what's going on." Her voice cracked in the end before she burst into tears.

"Oh, sweetheart, come here!" Alice never cried. Something was wrong. She buried her face in my chest and sobbed fully. "Oh Alice, you have to tell me what's going on. You were so happy seconds ago."

"I don't know what's happening," she cried and looked up. The always happy soul looked broken and lost. It was fucking heartbreaking. "And I fought with Jasper because of this yesterday. I don't know what's going on."

I talked a little more with her and after an hour she was calm and her old self again.

"Thank you so much, Eddie." She kissed my forehead and jumped out as I let the sleep consume me again. I was emotionally drained and hoped I didn't have to face more drama today.

Chapter 3

"Just so you know, the girl in there-" he pointed at the window. "–she's with me."

Perfect. I was thirsty and had found my cântareata, but couldn't savor her. My nostrils flared.

"I'll stay with her all night, if that's what it takes."

"I'm thirsty, I–"

"She's with me," he stated. "And don't even try, because like I said, I will stay all night, if that's what it takes."

I growled in frustration and lunged for him. I was too thirsty to care.

"Bella baby?" my mom called me. I ran out on my stumbling feet. "This is Edward and he will take care of you while mommy's shopping."

"Hi Edward! You're hair is funny! Come, I wanna show you my paintings!"

That was the first time I saw him. I was three and he was fifteen and had just started high school. He was my neighbour and his mom and my mom were good friends. Soon I was asking him to come over constantly. He was expert on studying the same time he played with me. He was my hero and like the big brother I never had.

I never understood why he wanted to be with me, but he was always there. Even when I got to know Angela, he hung out with us.

Time went by and he graduated.

"Eddie…are you moving away from me?" I pouted.

He took my face in his big hands and half-smiled at me. "I'm sorry, Belly. I will write letters and send you presents."

"Presents are not funny to open if you're not here."

He sighed. "Well I'm here now, and I've got a present for you. Will you open it?"

I looked at him and nodded.

He fished up a little box from his pocket and handed it to me. "Open it."

It was a necklace. It was a charm in the shape of a heart.

The words 'Remember me' were engraved in a beautiful script

"You can open it," he said and the charm opened with a thud. Inside there was a photo of him giving me piggy-ride.

"Thanks Eddie." I hugged him tightly, sensing I wouldn't see him soon.

"Will you wear it?" he whispered in my ear.

My head snapped up and I fumbled to fish up the necklace that was hanging as close to my heart as it could.

His eyes widened and his mouth popped open. "Belly?" he whispered.

I managed to nod as my eyes filled with tears. Before a second had passed I had thrown my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. I inhaled and thought that I never been this happy for years.

"I've missed you, Belly," he whispered in my ear.

I was so happy that I couldn't manage to answer.

He kissed my temple and trailed kissed down my ear to my neck. I felt my heart froze at first, then accelerate.

I snaked my hand in his hair and met his eyes. They were darkened.

Before I could even register I felt his lips against mine. I was so shocked that I didn't respond at first but it didn't take long before I kissed him back.

Suddenly, he pulled away. "Shit, I'm sorry. It's nice to see you, Bella."

Before he ran down the stairs I grabbed his wrist and pulled him back onto my mouth.

We stumbled into my apartment, lips locked.

My hand wound up in his hair and my legs around his waist. I could feel him, and since I wore a summer-dress and a thong I'm pretty sure he felt me too.

Luckily, my room was the one straight forward; because that was the way we went.

He threw me at the bed and hovered over me as his hand ghosted up my thigh. My breath and heart accelerated as he got close to my core.

I undid his shirt-buttons and threw it on the floor.

He found the zipper and it echoed as he unzipped my dress and threw it on his shirt.

"You look gorgeous, Bella," he whispered and nibbled on my earlobe. "Who knew you would turn out like this?"

My breaths were pants now and I fumbled with his belt. Suddenly he froze.

"Are you sure about this?" he asked worried. I looked at him confused.

"I mean, you're just…I mean…"

I flipped us over so I was straddling him. "Why are you still talking?" I removed his pants and massaged his erection through the fabric of his boxers. I earned a stifled moan and he closed his eyes.

"Bella."

…

I was lying on his chest, his arm was around me. "Why did you stop sending me letters?" I asked him.

He sighed. "I…I just…I couldn't. I just couldn't. I'd seen you grow up, I knew you better than most of the people. You were like a sister to me and I…" he looked away.

I crawled up and kissed him lightly. "You can tell me you know. I'm the same as always, I just know I little more now." I grabbed his jaw, forcing him to look at me. His emerald eyes burned into mine.

"I fell in love with you, Bella," he whispered.

I froze. What?

"And I was so scared to ruin your life, so scared of the consequences if I told you. So I didn't. But then you met this boy…" he shook his head. "I know it's ridiculous, but I couldn't―" he stopped abruptly and his eyes widened. "Bella, what are you doing?"

I smirked and trailed my finger on his vee.

"Here I am, confessing the biggest secret I ever had, and you act like a very naughty girl!"

I giggled.

He growled and flipped us over.

…

"I love you, Edward."

After three years of dating, fighting, arguing, love, sex it was still us. We had fought rumours, whispers, friend's betrayals, parent's approval. But nothing could make us separate. Today was our anniversary and Edward had prepared a picnic in a beautiful meadow. Today I was going to tell him.

"I love you too, Bella, more than my own life." I smiled and caught his lips. My hand wound up in his hair and his caressed my curls gently before he pulled away.

I looked at him surprised.

"I have something to tell you." In a flash of a second the most unthinkable flew through my mind. He wouldn't break up with my on our anniversary, wouldn't he?

Edward just smiled and took a deep breath before he slid down to his knees. My breath hitched and my hand flew up to my mouth.

His beautiful green eyes were glowing and he held the most beautiful ring I have ever seen.

"Isabella Marie Swan, I love you more than anything in this world. You're more precious than all the stars in the sky and than every diamond in this world. I love you, and a lifetime hardly seems enough for me. But I will ask for one thing from you. Will you marry me?"

My tears streamed down my cheeks and thought I was going to combust of all the emotion that was running through my body. "Yes, yes, yes! I will marry you Edward!" I threw my arms around him and kissed him with all I had.

I pulled away eventually and starred into his eyes. "Guess what?"

"What?" he beamed.

"I'm pregnant!" I squealed.

He looked at me in surprise and blinked once. "W―you're pregnant?"

I squealed again and he swung me around while his lips once again found mine.
